A Christmas Carol

Last week, 5th graders worked on Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. First, we learned about the play and its characters. Then, we watched the play, which was performed by IPA productions. Finally, we talked about Charles Dickens and the play with their English books. At the end of the play, the children asked the actors some questions. The pupils enjoyed the play and now, they know more about one of the most famous English writers in Great Britain.
One of the pupils said:
“I liked this Christmas Carol because it helps you realize that money is not the most important thing in life. It was creepy but quite enjoyable. Jacob Marley, Scrooge’s old friend, helps him realize that he needs to stop being mean.
 I especially like the part where Scrooge realizes what he is doing and says sorry to everyone and gives money to the poor. “
